Mammograms

It   is widely used breast screening method. During this examination, our skilled radiographer at Primera Hospital captures low-energy X-rays of your breasts. These X-rays are invaluable in detecting cancerous cells and other subtle abnormalities that may not be easily visible or felt.

It’s important to note that mammograms are not recommended for everyone. Typically, women under the age of 40 are not advised to undergo mammograms unless there is a significant concern or a high-risk factor, such as a family history of breast cancer. Your healthcare provider can guide you on the most appropriate screening approach based on your individual circumstances.

Ultrasound

During an ultrasound examination, our skilled Radiologist utilizes a small hand-held probe that emits high-frequency sound waves. These sound waves create images of the internal breast tissues, aiding your consultant in identifying any potential abnormalities.

It is a safe method for detection of any breast lump in any age.

Ultrasound is often performed in conjunction with mammograms, providing additional insights and details, especially for women aged 40 and above.
